Scope and content: This collection contains documents detailing the the agreement between J.L. Helliwell and the provincial government with regards to what is now Helliwell Provincial Park, as well as material that give a brief history of the different ownership of the property and insight into daliy life on Hornby Island during the 1930’s and 1940’s
Immediate source of acquisition: John Helliwell gave Jennie Ambrose his collection of original documents concerning the Helliwell property and its’ donation to the provincial government by his father J.L Helliwell. Jennie took the documents to be copied, returning the originals, and brought the copies to the Archives in November 2019.
Arramgement: Original order within the individual files has been maintained, the files are organzied chronologically.
